Your site may be the first referece point for some customers, and hence it's important to make the right first impression. Branding and recognition are becoming more important as the web becomes the standard place for conducting business. Whether this involves matching your existing branding, or starting from scratch, I can create a brand image that suits your business.

The Design Process

You can be as involved as you like with the design process. I can manage the whole process for you, reccommending hosting packages, domain names and branding, or adapt the design to fit your existing setup. I usually setup a gallery online which allows you to review all the designs I have presented and make comments for inclusion in the next set of designs.

Techniques

Here comes the jargon... I code sites with XHTML and CSS2, using a little JavaScript, Flash, Actionscript, PHP, a lot of Usability, Accessibility, and W3C Web Standards. By conforming to the latest Web Standards, it makes the websites look professional, they load faster, the site will be accessible to people with disabilities, and more gererally - it’s just the right way to do things!

Content Management System

What is a Content Management System (CMS)? A CMS allows the owner of the site to edit pages on the site without any knowledge of web design techniques. It enables the user to maintain freedom from the web designer and allows them to add, remove or update pages whenever they like. This is accessed via an online control panel, so you can update your site from any computer with internet access. For more information, see the Applications section.

Mailing List Management System

The Mailing List Application will enable you to easily create email newsletters and send them to large mailing lists. Your Mailing List is also automatically managed, so that if users want to subscribe/unsubscribe from your list, then they may do so without contacting you via a form on your site. Search Engine Optimisation

No website is useful if nobody can find it. Search Engine Optimisation makes sure that your site has a high visibility in the search engines, and when people search for key terms, that your web site is included in the results. For more information, see the Marketing section.
